Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways volunteers can contribute to our community and support our mission and vision.

Oceanside Hospice has over 60 volunteers who are the heart and soul of our organization. There are many different areas within our organization that you can help support, and new volunteers are always welcome.  The assignment of volunteers is based on community needs.

It is mandatory that every volunteer must complete a 30-hour hospice volunteer training program which runs over seven weeks. The cost is $75 and includes the annual membership fee. Volunteer training is offered two times per year.

If you are interested in becoming an Oceanside Hospice Volunteer, please complete this Volunteer Application form to Oceanside Hospice Society and ask to speak with our Volunteer Coordinator Lisa Lentz.  Lisa can also be reached by calling 250.752.6227 or via email at volunteer@oceansidehospice.com

Client Support Volunteer

Client support volunteers work directly with our clients in their homes offering one-to-one support, The Hospice unit at Trillium, vigils, facilitate support groups, and with our bereavement support programs including the Friday Self-Care Clinic.

Equipment Delivery Volunteers

Equipment delivery volunteers are ready and willing volunteers who deliver equipment as required to clients in their homes via our Hospice Van.  It is not necessary that drivers take the volunteer training; however, volunteers will need to attend an information and equipment orientation session.

We are always in search of drivers, even a few hours a month would be much appreciated.
